What’s reading magic, you may ask? Some people call us a reading coach or reading tutor. But I like to think of it as magic, because much like a magician, I reveal what is hidden right before your eyes. There are letters and sentences… But some children need a little help to unlock the secrets that are right there. Working with your child, together we unlock the letters, words, and sentences, to reveal the magic in a book.

With the help of technology, no matter where you live, I am available to work with your children to strengthen their reading and writing skills, give them confidence in their ability to master reading, and make the learning experience fun and creative. I draw upon my training as a Waldorf teacher and tutor, as well as the latest systems in using phonics, developing phonological awareness, and emphasizing decoding skills. The process of learning to read involves both the left and right side of the brain. On the one hand, there must be interest, love, imagination, and playfulness in order to enjoy reading. On the other hand, there is a definite set of rules and strategies that can be learned, to make the process of reading more successful. As a reading tutor, I bring both imagination and systems to the learning process, meeting the child where he or she is currently doing their best, and moving forward from there.
